This is a wonderful late Iron Age British Celtic bronze clothing toggle, dating to the 1st century AD. This 'toggle' or 'Button and loop fastener' would have been used to secure leather harness or heavy fur clothing. The toggle has a circular/button head, with a large triangular fixing loop. Similar examples have been recorded LIN-740155 and DENO-ED2004, Ref: Mills, Celtic & Roman Artefacts. p. 69. fig, RC 187, RC 188.
