This is rare Roman silver cameo ring of Cupid, dating to the 3rd century. The ring bears traces of gold gilding in places. The molded glass cameo depicts a front-facing bust, hard to appreciate on the photographs, but I have included an impression of the head to give an idea. It is likely this cameo was once given as an amorous token of love, with Cupid representing the embodiment of desire.
