Ancient Scandinavian Viking Silver Finger Ring

Code: 10482

This is an ancient Scandinavian Viking silver finger ring, dating to the 9th - 10th century A.D. The ring is formed from a hammered bar of silver, hammered to form a broad band. The narrowing hoop terminates into a thinner wire with the ends joined in a slip-knot. This type of rings seems to have been popular in Scandinavia, being found in treasure hoards and as stray finds in England.
