This is an early medieval silver finger ring with a wide band, dating from the 8th - 10th century AD. The decoration is geometric with punched ring-and-dot as well as punched dots forming a continuous rolling wave design around the band. The decoration is very reminiscent of Hiberno-Scandinavian broad-band arm-rings and bracelets. With a similar solid wide band ring (being inscribed in Runes and) dated to the 8th - 10th century (see OA.10262). Rare and in excellent excavated condition.
