This is an ancient Germanic Saxon gold finger ring, dating to the 8th - 10th century A.D. This type of wide banded ring is often inscribed, associated as a wedding ring or as objects of status. This is an excellent example, decorated with a twisted rope border for strength. The ring is in excellent condition with minimal wear.
