This is a nice Hiberno-Scandinavian silver pin, dating to the 9th - 10th century A.D. It is a good example, decorated with punched ring and dot and geometric design (as found on Hiberno-Norse bracelets of the 10th century). The pin appears to have had a riveted repair in antiquity. The pin has been curled, perhaps on purpose to hold clothing together? It is an intact and original piece in good excavated condition.
