This is an ancient Scandinavian silver bracelet, dating to the 8th - 10th century A.D. The bracelet is formed from a rod of silver, the ends hammered to form spayed terminals. This type of bracelet was popular throughout the Scandinavian Iron-Age, being found in treasure hoards and as single losses. This example is in excellent condition with good metal, so likely once kept in a hoard deposit or a river find.
