This is a rare and well-designed Scandinavian silver cuff bracelet, dating to the 8th - 10th century A.D. The bracelet is made from a bar of silver hammered flat with a complex punched design. The size is quite small, intended for a young lady to wear. Similar bracelets are found in hoards of hack silver, buried with elite females as displays of wealth. It is in excellent excavated condition, all original and of the period—a good wearable piece of Viking jewellery.
