This is a Renaissance silver finger ring, dating to the 16th century A.D. The ring is missing the original gemstone, held within a cusped bezel. The inside of the bezel is heavily patinated, this is not bronze but tests for silver, likely a baser silver with the copper leaching during burial or a variation of foiling for the gemstone. Similar rings have been recorded in gold, dated top the late Medieval and Tudor period. A nice ring
