This is a late Medieval - Renaissance silver-gilt finger ring, dating to the 15th-16th century A.D. The ring is set with the original glass gem, held within a cusped bezel. The shoulders are decorated, so too the lower hoop. Today it has survived in excellent excavated condition with traces of the original mercurial gold gilding, suitable to be worn again today.
