Medieval Gold Gilded Finger Ring Initial Letter 'a'
This is a nice medieval finger ring, dating to the 15th century A.D. The ring is decorated with an initial letter 'a', likely the first letter of a name such as 'Andrew' etc. The initial is engraved in 'black letter' script, in use during the 15th and early 16th century. It bears traces of the original mercurial gold gilding, originally having the appearance of being made from solid gold. It is a great looking ring, in excellent excavated condition.
