Medieval Initial Signet Ring Initial Letter 'I' or 'J'
This is a nice medieval signet ring, dating to the 15th century A.D. The ring is decorated with an initial letter 'I' or 'J', likely the first letter of a name such as 'John' or James. The initial is engraved in 'black letter' script, in use during the 15th and early 16th century. The band is decorated with a rope-work effect, in excellent excavated condition.
