Code: 12188
This is a very nice medieval signet ring, dating to the 15th century. The round bezel is engraved with an armorial device, which depicts a bend between two floriated crosses. Below is a black-letter inscription reading as "Antonie le Lios" Antonie the Lion? The circumference is dotted. This is a large ring, likely worn over a glove (as was the fashion). Such a ring would have been an important seal owned by a knight or merchant as a (means of authenticating transactions and letters). Today this ring has survived down intact and in excellent condition, suitable to be cleaned and worn again today!
