Medieval silver-gilt openwork ring set with a sapphire paste

This is a nice medieval silver-gilt finger ring, dating to the 15th - 16th century A.D. The ring has an openwork hoop set with a blue glass gemstone. The ring is in good condition with much of the original gold gilding worn away. It does has a split lower hoop but is intact and unrestored from excavation.
