This is a Tudor silver shilling (12 pence) of Queen Elizabeth, minted in London between 1560 - 1561 AD.
Obverse inscription: ELIZABET : D : G : AN : FR : ET : HI : REGINA, ( "Elizabeth, by the Grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland") Crowned bust left, mintmark 'Martlet'.
Reverse inscription: POSVI DEV' ADIVTOREM MEV ("I have made God my helper") Square topped shield quartered by long cross fourchee dividing legend, mintmark 'Martlet' above.
This is a nice toned example with a clear portrait
