Code: 11198
This is a nice Tudor silver-gilt dress-hook, dating to the 16th century. Recorded from Harborough (LEIC-3B8F05) the object is similar to Read's class D, type 9. The object consists of a round plate with six petal-like protrusions, each with a sub-circular knop on its surface and crimped edges. These are linked by a solid raised band on which sits a separate openwork plate. This is formed of six trefoil motifs and is attached to the main object by a pin with a large gilded head. The reverse contains a rectangular shaped loop and the circular sectioned pin missing the tip. A similar example has been recorded from Warwickshire (LEIC-CC8A32).
