This is a Baroque silver-gilt frame, dating to the early 17th century. The frame is of the type used to house both portrait miniatures, devotional images and reliquaries. Sadly it is empty of the original contents, though retains two glass or crystal covers. The pendant bears traces of old solder on the reverse, indicating it once housed a pin and was worn as a brooch. This pendant will benefit from a suitable portrait or devotional image.
