This is a nice example of a Georgian gold posy ring dating to the 18th century. The ring is inscribed in italics, "By Christ a Lone wee two are one " It bears a makers mark using the monogram ‘PL’ within a shield-shaped punch (as yet unidentified). The length and style of the inscription would both suggest an 18th-century date. The ring is a good example of a Posy ring that can still be worn as a wedding band.
