This is a nice Renaissance gold finger ring, dating to the 16th - 17th centuries. The ring is designed to take the form of an interlocking chain, this would have been filled with black enamel. The ring bears no makers marks or hallmarks but has been tested to be of at least 18k gold. This ring was found in a cache of jewellery (during renovation work) mainly dating to the late 16th and early 17th centuries (see the last photo)
