This is a nice Renaissance gold chain section, dating to the 16th century. It consists of nine links, alternating twisted and grooved (likely set with enamel). The chain would have been much longer, likely a long chain. Similar chains have been recovered from the Cheapside Hoard. A rare and interesting piece of early jewellery.
