This is a nice Tudor period gold jewel pendant, dating to the 16th - 17th century. The jewel is set with the original table cut garnet and single freshwater pearl. These were worn woven into the hair or attached to headdresses.
It is in excavated condition, being buried in the ground as lost one arm and a pearl.
A nice and original Tudor period jewel from the age of Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots!
