This is a nice Renaissance silver clothing hook fastener, dating to the 16th or early 17th century. It is of a small size, originally sewn onto delicate silks or child's clothing. These were used as buttons to hook together or to close up garments. It is decorated with a floral spray, the hook still attached to the back. An interesting piece for a collector.
