This is an excavated Tudor period gold and ruby finger ring, dating to the 1580s-1620s. The ring is intact, though sadly missing one of the original table-cut rubies on the top of the cruciform shaped bezel. The hoop of the ring is heavily sculpted with an intricate design that was once likely set against black enamel? The hoop has a split, although in an ideal place for a simple laser weld to fix, the ring has been left untouched from excavation.
