This is a fine example of a Tudor gold posy ring, dating to the 16th century. This example is decorated with a deeply cut band to be set with coloured enamels. The inside of the band bears an English inscription in Roman capitals "I HOPE IN TYME" It is a nice ring in very good condition but missing some of the polychrome enamels, as usual for an excavated piece!
