Baroque Silver Devotional Pendant of St. Anthony of Padua
This is a wonderful Baroque silver devotional pendant, dating to the late 16th - early 17th century. It depicts Saint Anthony of Padua, Holding Baby Jesus. This Saint is especially invoked and venerated all over the world as the patron saint for the recovery of lost items and is credited with many miracles involving lost people, lost things and even lost spiritual goods. This pendant is all original, with a piece of cloth, much aged, behind which is framed an image of St. Anthony on parchment or vellum. The pendant retains the original suspension ring, a nice early and original devotional jewel.
