Code: 13043
This is an excavated silver finger ring dating to the 17th-century Stuart period. The 'D' shaped band is undecorated, similar to silver posy rings of the period, which would be engraved on the inside of the band. See DUR-2F1A30, BERK-F519BC, and SOM-26CACB for type. This ring likely acted as a wedding ring, of a large size, so it probably belonged to a man. The ring is intact but has been buried underground for hundreds of years, so its surfaces are dulled and tarnished. An interesting historic ring that can still be worn today if desired!
