This fabulous Georgian 9k gold and enamel locket dates to the early 19th century. The front panel is superbly enamelled to resemble a classical cameo of a Roman emperor. The back of the locket is highly polished for use as a mirror. The inside is empty, and may have once contained a portrait miniature or a photograph. It is housed in a plush tooled leather case, with a silk interior from a previous retail at Parkes, 12 Vigo Street, Regent Street, in the mid-19th century. It is a lovely item in excellent condition.
