Georgian silver goblet

Georgian silver goblet "East India Company" by John Reily of London

Code: 12030

£980.00 Approx $1235.81, €1143.52

A wonderful Georgian silver goblet of an elegant Campagna shape. Hallmarked for London 1809 by the silversmith John Reily. The marks are clear but rubbed. The goblet bears the arms of the British East India Company "Haileybury College" which opened its doors to students in 1809, the same year as this inaugural goblet was made. Gold medals for this school bear the same arms and motto. A rare item in very good, clean condition. Superficial surface bruising and a couple of dings but very smart in appearance and perfectly usable today! - please note the marks are worn, I have included photos of the best I can achieve, with the last two from a Madeira label (from the same maker and date of 1809) for comparison.
