Code: 11097
This is an excavated group of five Scandinavian Viking silver belt plates, dating to the 10th - 11th century. Each plate is shaped as two inverted triangles each with three pellets (similar to that found on punched silverwork). Each piece has been stamped out on a die, the backs having tiny bronze pins for attachment to a leather belt. An interesting group in good uncleaned and excavated condition.
