This is a nice example of an English gold posy ring, dating to the 17th - 18th century. The ring is inscribed "Christ alone made us two one" a sentiment recorded in Evans (28) and one well suited as a wedding band. The ring bears a makers mark of a PL monogram within a shield-shaped punch. A very nice antique ring that can still be worn again today as a wedding band.
