Ancient Roman Hardstone Agate Cameo
This is an ancient Roman agate hardstone cameo, dating to the 2nd - 3rd century A.D. The cameo is cut with a facing portrait of a bearded god or man, with drilled eyes and an expressive face. Such a gem would have been mounted into a gold finger ring or pendant. It is a great looking piece of glyptic art, ideal for remounting or to add to your collection.
