Ancient Roman sard intaglio of Pax (Peace)

This is an excavated ancient Roman intaglio, dating to the 1st - 2nd century A.D. nicely cut with a standing figure of Pax, holding a branch and sceptre. The gem would have originally been set into an iron ring, traces of oxidized iron remain on the back. Pax is a nice subject for a gem, being the personification of peace.
