This is a nice late Bronze Age lugged sickle, dating to c. 1200 - 800 B.C. This object would have been cast in once piece the offset sprue used as a rivet to secure the blade to a wooden handle. Such objects were used in harvesting crops and fruits by early farming communities. A comparable example has been recorded from Welwyn in Hertfordshire BH-6CC3F5 this is a particularly nice example in good excavated condition.
