This is an ancient Roman gold Aureus, of Emperor Antoninus Pius, minted at Rome between 140 - 143 AD
Obverse: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, "Antoninus Pius, emperor (Augustus) father of the nation, holder of tribunician power, consul for the third time." Head of Antoninus Pius, laureate, right.
Reverse: IOVI STATORI, "To Jupiter, the upholder (preserver)" Jupiter, naked, standing front, holding sceptre in right hand and thunderbolt in left.
