Obverse: L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIIII "Lucius Septimius Severus Pertinax, emperor (Augustus), supreme commander (Imperator) for the ninth time." laureate head right.
Reverse: LIBERO PATRI "Of the free father." Liber (Bacchus) standing right, head left, holding thyrsos, right hand on head, crowning himself, panther at his feet.
