Portrait Miniature of Queen Marie de' Medici Vellum Oils
This is a nice and original early 17th-century portrait miniature, of Queen Marie de Medici (of France). She is painted on vellum in oils. The silver sanctuary frame is later, but a makes a fine home for this queen in exile! Originally this miniature would have been housed in a gold and gem set pendant frame, given by Marie to one of her supporters as a token of esteem.
