A very nice Scottish Georgian silver snuff box, dating to the 18th century. The body is formed from a piece of Tiger Cowrie shell, with unmarked silver mounts and a flush-hinged cover. The lid bears a raised cartouche, engraved with initials now mostly worn. The hinge is tight and closes well, the shell has a nice patina and colour.
