Code: 13039
This is an original chessman seal in bronze, dating to the late 15th century. The seal is deeply cut in Black letter script, reading to me as "Iacop atiaen don Oinen." (Seal of Jacob Alderman of Ommen?) The armorial device depicts a Hanseatic emblem flanked by three stars. This is likely referring to a Hanseatic merchant or Ältermann (Alderman) from Ommen, which was a Hanseatic city in the eastern Netherlands. A nice historic seal that would benefit from further research and translation.
