This is a nice medieval bronze armorial seal dating to the 13th— 14th centuries. The seal is engraved with a shield within a richly cusped Gothic circle; the shield is decorated with a tree or a stylised sheaf of wheat. The seal is of a 'chessman' type with a pierced handle. It is a great-looking piece in excavated condition and will benefit from cleaning and further research.
