This is a scarce Tudor silver groat of king Henry VII, minted in London between 1485 - 1487. It bears the earlier portrait, with a mintmark of a lis upon a half rose / lis upon a half sun and rose mule. This coin was struck shortly after Henry's victory over King Richard III at Bosworth in 1485. The dies used bear a Ricardian portrait with the mint mark adjusted. The coin is slightly clipped and is a recent detector find.
