Large Early Saxon Silver Gilt Germanic Buckle

This is a wonderful early Saxon silver buckle, dating to the 5th - 6th century A.D. The large buckle is intact with some of the gilding remaining on the tongue, interestingly this tongue is riveted shut (so likely worn as a decorative piece, rather than a functional buckle).
