This is a rare Romano-Celtic silver gilt finger ring, dating to the 1st century A.D. The ring is decorated with an openwork band, with an alternating crescent design. The conjoined lunar crescents are reminiscent of those used by Iceni tribe (of Boudica fame), see the last photograph for a silver unit, including the pellets found on this ring. The ring is in excavated condition very fragile with a few stress lines. A rare museum-worthy object!
