This is an ancient Roman gold finger ring of a keeled type, dating to the 3rd century A.D. The ring is of a good size, with a plain round bezel and decorated shoulders. A similar 'keeled' type ring in silver is discussed GLO-8C3E10 this type in gold is much rarer. This ring has survived in good excavated condition, though the surfaces are grazed from rolling around in the ploughed soil. Today the ring is perfectly wearable though scuffed.
