This is a nice and complete Tudor period silver-gilt eyelet, dating to the 16th - 17th century. This item would have been sewn onto rich brocaded fabric on a sumptuous gown or doublet, together with a secondary hook fastener, would have been used to fasten or close the garment. This example is decorated with a central triangular device, formed with wirework and granulation. Today it has survived in good shape and suitable to be worn as a pendant.
