This is a jolly nice Augsburg silver beaker, dating to the second half of the 17th century. It is a good sized piece, beautifully decorated with hearts. These are hand raised and beaten, each individual and full of character. The inside bears a honey yellow gold gilding, a worn lemon yellow gilding on the rim. It retains a tiny heart-shaped makers mark to the rim (see photo) as yet unidentified, but likely of Augsburg and of a 17th-century date. This 'love cup' has plenty of life left in it yet, an ideal piece for a gift or wedding ceremony!
