This is a late Roman bronze finger ring, dating to the 4th - 5th century A.D. It is of a polygonal shape, classified as Henig Type IX (or Guiraud type 9a). The ring has 12 faces, each dished and engraved with a saltire cross. These rings are usually inscribed with a protective or magical formula, usually dedicated to a god or for good luck.
