This is an Italian Baroque devotional reliquary pendant, dating to the 17th century. The devotional image of Jesus is set onto a wax plaque, appearing to emanate from it. Such an object would have been purchased on a pilgrimage to Rome or holy site, used for contemplation, meditation, and prayer.
