This is a fabulous Late Bronze Age / Iron Age ring money trade bead, made from bronze. Such beads were used as a form of proto currency, before the introduction of minted coinage by the Celts. This example would have been traded and used as a form of raw material for producing bronze objects. Such ring money beads could easily be transported for trade, tied through a leather thong or worn on a necklace. Similar beads have been recorded HAMP-F24747, HAMP-D344C1 and BERK-CA3A83. This is an excellent example excavated in Norfolk (England).
