Georgian Foiled Amethyst Décolletage Jewel

This is a fabulous Georgian silver pendant, dating to the late 18th century. The jewel is set with a foiled amethyst paste, cut with an intricate arrangement of facets. The drop hangs from a secondary suspension pendant, set with a button-shaped pearl. This jewel would have been worn to crown the décolletage, from a pearl or silver chain. A stunning piece of wearable antique jewellery in excellent condition.
