This is a wonderful late 17th-century silver and rose diamond cross pendant. It retains the hanger, again set with rose cut diamonds and the original fittings on the back. Such a pendant would have been worn on a ribbon (choker) around the neck, with the cross designed to hang and move on the décolletage. Such jewels were often worn in the evening, coming to life by candlelight. This example is quite rare as it is also set with Stuart crystals (rock crystal) in place of a plain silver backing. A great looking historical piece of wearable jewellery, from the age of King Charles II - Queen Anne.
